Tang Guoqing can be regarded as a senior expert in domestic semiconductor lighting. He is now in charge of CREE China market expansion, and is mainly responsible for CREE's overall brand development and market planning in China. He started to contact LEDs more than 20 years ago when he was working at Shanghai Semiconductor Devices. At that time, China's earliest LED factory was born in Shanghai, namely Shanghai Semiconductor Device Sixth Factory (formerly a subsidiary of Shanghai Semiconductor Devices Co., Ltd.). After that, he held senior positions in Jinqiao Export Development Zone, Japan Mitsui (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jinqiao Dachen Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. and Huagang Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. He is also the executive vice chairman of the Shanghai Optoelectronics Industry Association and the director of the Semiconductor Lighting Committee of the China Lighting Association.
During his relationship with LED, what made him most proud was that in terms of LED, China’s three firsts were all related to him. First, he planned and edited the first book on semiconductor lighting, which is the most happy thing for him. The second is to launch the first international LED lighting exhibition, and has been running for five sessions; the third is to participate in the organization of the first international LED Forum (already held six sessions).
How to treat the LED status quo?

At present, LED is a hot topic in China. There are two main viewpoints in the industry: one thinks that LED can replace ordinary lighting immediately; one has certain skepticism about LED.
Tang Guoqing believes that the reason for the above two views is that the LEDs are not clearly understood and there is no good positioning. In fact, exaggeration is unscientific, and depreciation is unscientific. To objectively enter the market, LEDs need accurate guidance from public opinion and support and support from enterprises and associations.
At present, the development of LED in China is mainly the development of epitaxial materials and chips. As far as domestic well-known IT companies are concerned, they have done a lot, and the real core technology is provided by foreign manufacturers. Therefore, looking at things, we must see the side of success and the side of deficiency. China's LEDs have experienced a rapid development stage from scratch, from low to medium levels, but to go to the direction of energy-efficient lighting, there must be a power chip, which is the core part. At present, there are still considerable distances between domestic epitaxial materials and chip manufacturing levels compared with international standards. Secondly, the packaging technology is also very important, because even with the chip, the level of packaging can not be raised. In addition, China's LED industry has a big shortcoming, that is, the lack of high-end top talent.
In Tang Guoqing's view, China's LED has just begun to rise. In the lighting industry, it is a flower that has just bloomed, but she is by no means a icing on the cake. But overall, LED will become the mainstream, although it has to go a long way. But from the light source currently known, LED is the most promising. LED love, or should it be afraid?

Nowadays, in the lighting industry or the LED industry, many people are afraid of LED and they are afraid of losing money. For example, the original lighting person thinks that it is simple to do LED lights, and then to do LED lights; the original LED people think that lighting is simple, they will do lighting. All kinds of phenomena show that it is still a bit impetuous. In fact, as long as you do your own field, it is very important to be able to withstand loneliness. If everyone does their own part, the whole industry will develop. Now I want to grab the LED to make some money. This is understandable. But first of all, LED lighting should be regarded as a very serious matter. It is responsible to the government, responsible to the industry, responsible to the enterprise, and responsible to the owners who use LED light sources. How to develop industry standards?

In recent years, LED technology and industry have developed very rapidly, especially in the field of semiconductor lighting. As market demand grows, it is necessary to speed up the development of semiconductor lighting technology standards. At present, relevant organizations at home and abroad are actively organizing and formulating semiconductor lighting technology standards, and they are also experiencing overheating problems. Now the lighting industry is actively developing standards for LED lamps. However, it is rare to be absorbed by the LED industry. This is at least biased and fair. Interlaced is still separated by mountains! Tang Guoqing personally believes that LED itself is a brand new thing, and semiconductor lighting, more need to be deeply researched and discussed, can not be rushed. The LED test standards set by large international companies are now inconsistent in each company's standards. The International Lighting Association has been in existence for so many years and has not systematically established an LED standard. What does this mean? Explain that the development of LED standards is not a problem that can be solved by any enterprise, nor is it an association or a national authority that can solve problems. However, I think that a more realistic approach can be based on the original traditional lighting standards to develop an industry-oriented specification for LEDs.
