IBM new technology storage increases 100 times

According to foreign media reports, IBM researchers recently confirmed that racetrack memory theory is correct and can be used to guide the production of such memory chips. With Racetrack chips, the storage capacity of mobile devices will increase more than 100 times and can store 500,000 songs or 3,500 movies. Due to the extremely low energy consumption of Racetrack chips, mobile devices will last for several weeks. Racetrack chips can also be used in desktops and servers to increase storage capacity and increase data access speed.

Racetrack chips combine the advantages of flash memory chips and magnetic storage devices and may replace current memory, flash memory, or even traditional hard drives. The Racetrack chip stores data on a nanowire called "racetracks," which equals one thousandth of human hair.

According to Racetrack project director, Racetrack, Racetrack chips allow manufacturers to produce notebooks, smart phones and other devices with the same size, even smaller size, and larger storage capacity. Racetrack chips have low energy consumption, fast access speeds, and unlimited read/write times.
