It was learned from Xiamen Customs that after the financial winter at the end of last year, the Xiamen optoelectronic industry, including Taiwan-funded optoelectronics enterprises, is showing a recovery trend.
In recent years, Xiamen has attracted Taiwan's optoelectronic industry giants AUO, Dongyuan Group, Xinjingyuan Optoelectronics and other enterprises to enter. Recently, there are four Taiwanese optoelectronic information industry giants such as TPV Technology Group settled in Xiamen. At present, one-third of Xiamen's large-scale optoelectronics companies are from Taiwan. However, affected by the financial crisis, since October last year, the total value of Taiwan's investment in optoelectronics industry has declined month by month. It fell to a record low in January this year, down 50% from last month's average.
Since February this year, Taiwan-funded optoelectronics enterprises have begun to show signs of recovery. AU Optronics (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. is the world's third-largest LCD manufacturer AU Optronics invested in Xiamen. The company's manager Lin told reporters that the implementation of mainland home appliances to the countryside has effectively boosted the sales of many home appliance companies. At the same time, the demand for upstream products, namely LCD panels, has increased greatly. At present, we are about 70 vehicles per day. The raw materials of the car have been put into production, nearly double the number of the past.
The import and export of Taiwan-funded optoelectronics enterprises has also been reactivated. According to customs officials, in the first four months of this year, the total monthly import and export value of AU Optronics (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. increased by 20% to 30%. In April, it reached US$396 million. The import and export value of Jingyu Optoelectronics (Xiamen) Co., Ltd., which was established by Xinjingyuan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., also showed a doubling of monthly growth. According to customs officials, in order to help Taiwan-funded enterprises cope with the financial crisis, Xiamen Customs has set up a coordination group and launched a growth-enhancing plan to help enterprises improve customs clearance efficiency and save costs. After knowing that AUO’s orders have increased significantly and the production cycle has been greatly shortened, Xiamen Customs has proposed to implement a centralized/declared customs declaration mode after ensuring that the supervision is in place. Official customs clearance can quickly handle the entry/exit procedures of goods, and then declare them in a centralized manner to realize the immediate entry and exit area. Since the mode was run on April 1, as of May 20, AUO has valued nearly 40 million US dollars of goods through this mode.
