Structural characteristics of inductosyn

The structure of the induction synchronizer is shown in Figure 4-5. The fixed-length and sliding-scale substrates are made of steel plates with a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to those of the machine tool. The steel plates are covered with steel foils with insulating adhesives and corroded by photographs. The method is made into the printed winding as shown in the figure. The pitch of the fixed-length and sliding-scale windings of the induction synchronizer are equal. This is the main parameter to measure the accuracy of the induction synchronizer, and the accuracy of the pitch must be ensured in the process. A standard inductosyn has a fixed length of 250 mm and 2 mm, with an absolute accuracy of 2.5 and a resolution of 0.25.

Inductosyn features

It can be seen from Figure 4-5 that if the fixed-length winding and the sliding-scale winding B are aligned, then the sliding-scale winding is exactly 1/4 pitch away from the fixed-length winding. In other words, the A winding and the B winding are spaced apart by 1/4 pitch.

The fixed length and sliding ruler seat of the induction synchronizer are respectively installed on two relatively moving parts of the machine tool (such as the worktable and the bed). When the worktable moves, the sliding rule moves at the fixed length. The sliding rule and the fixed rule should be covered with a protective cover to prevent iron filings, oil stains and cutting fluid from falling on the device, thereby affecting normal operation. Because the detection accuracy of the induction synchronizer is relatively high, there are certain requirements for installation. For example, the parallelism between the fixed-length installation surface and the machine tool rail surface must be ensured during installation. If the two surfaces are not parallel, it will cause fixed and sliding The gap between the rulers changes, thereby affecting the detection sensitivity and detection accuracy.

Advantages of inductosyn

â‘ Has high precision and resolution

Its measurement accuracy firstly depends on the processing accuracy of the printed circuit windings, and temperature changes have little effect on its measurement accuracy. Inductosyn is composed of many pitches participating in the work at the same time, and the error averaging effect of multiple pitches reduces the influence of local errors. At present, the accuracy of the long inductosyn can reach ±1.5 microns, the resolution is 0.05 microns, and the repeatability is 0.2 microns. The circular induction synchronizer with a diameter of 300 mm has an accuracy of ±1", a resolution of 0.05", and a repeatability of 0.1".

â‘¡Strong anti-interference ability

The inductosyn is an absolute measuring device within a pitch, and can give a single-valued voltage signal corresponding to the position at any time, so the occasional interference signal that acts instantaneously has no effect after it disappears. The impedance of the plane winding is very small, and the influence of the external interference electric field is very small.

â‘¢Long service life, simple maintenance

The fixed length and the sliding scale, the stator and the rotor do not touch each other, there is no friction or wear, so the service life is very long. It is not afraid of the influence of oil, dust and shock and vibration, and does not need to be cleaned frequently. However, a protective cover must be installed to prevent iron filings from entering the air gap.

According to the needs of measuring length, several fixed lengths can be spliced ​​together. The accuracy of the total length after splicing can be maintained (or slightly lower than) the accuracy of a single length. At present, the linear measurement of the displacement of the large machine tool table of several meters to tens of meters is mostly realized by inductive synchronizer.
