Silver-plated copper wire is called silver-plated copper wire or silver-plated wire in some cases. It is a thin wire drawn by a wire drawing machine after silver plating on an oxygen-free copper wire or a low-oxygen copper wire. The silver-plated copper wire is divided into a silver-plated soft round copper wire and a silver-plated hard round copper wire. The silver-plated soft round copper wire is annealed to change its physical properties to achieve softening. A good silver-plated copper wire coating is continuously and firmly attached to the surface of the conductor, and the surface of the sample does not become black after passing through the sample. The surface of the silver-plated coating should be smooth and continuous without harmful defects such as silver particles, burrs, and mechanical damage.

The silver-plated copper wire is made by concentrically plating a silver layer on the copper core. It combines the characteristics of two metals, has excellent electrical conductivity, and a bright and shiny surface, and the silver layer has high corrosion resistance. Because of these advantages, silver-plated copper wire is the preferred product for high-frequency wire and colored textile wire.

Characteristics of silver-plated copper wire: high electrical conductivity, improved heat resistance, bright and lustrous surface, high frequency characteristics, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.

Applications: colored wire, textile wire, high frequency applications, micro cable, aerospace cable, high temperature cable.

The main difference between hard round copper wire and soft round copper wire:

Hard round copper wire: code TY, directly obtained after drawing copper rod, DC resistance is large (not more than 0.01796 p20 Ωmm2/m), and the elongation is poor (not less than 0.6%).

Soft round copper wire: code TR, drawn by copper rod and hard round copper wire, and then annealed and heat treated, the DC resistivity is small (not more than 0.017241 p20 Ωmm2/m), and the elongation is better (not less than 25%) ).

Scope of application of electric round copper: This standard is applicable to hot-rolled black round copper rods for round wire copper wire, copper wire and other electrical copper conductors for wire and cable conductor cores.

Use characteristics: The choice of round copper rod size should be determined according to the final drawing size of the copper wire, the required performance and the actual drawing process.
