Shanghai regulations LED display brightness limit

Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality Supervision officially issued the Shanghai municipal mandatory local standard “Maximum Visible Brightness Limit and Measurement Method for LED Display Screens in Public Places” (DB31/708-2013). The standard was drafted by Shanghai Quality Inspection Institute, Shanghai Information Technology Quality Technology Association, and Shanghai Rongjing Landscape Service Center. The standard will be implemented from September 1, 2013.

This standard is for outdoor and indoor LED display, according to the use of the area, the area of ​​the display screen and the ambient illumination of the screen and other divisions, the provisions of the corresponding limit requirements and measurement methods, to fill the current domestic "light pollution" field standards The blanks have certain guiding significance for the production, installation and operation of LED screens.

The implementation of this standard will provide scientific basis for the installation and debugging of LED display screens in public places in Shanghai, and provide technical support for limiting excessive “light pollution” of LED displays during operation, thus changing many current LED display operating units. Blindly pursue the status of "eye-catching" effect and create a more comfortable living environment for the public.
