December 01, 2016 - Silicon Labs (also known as "Core Technology") has introduced a new audio software product that provides greater flexibility for car radio developers to help implement Silicon Labs' Global Eagle with audio processing. Advanced audio post-processing algorithm in Si47911/12. New software products enable developers to easily and cost-effectively implement audio post-processing functions such as tone control, equalizer adjustment, and tone generation using the Si47911/12 IC-integrated Tensilica HiFi EP DSP. Developers can also use the development software to port their proprietary audio algorithms, or design custom audio processing based on Silicon Labs' audio function blocks, or integrate their audio algorithms with Silicon Labs' audio post-processing capabilities.

According to IHS Markit's market research, global light vehicle sales will reach nearly 90 million units this year. Many of these vehicles will utilize sophisticated automotive infotainment systems with multiple tuner ICs and antennas to support FM phase diversity reception, Radio Data System (RDS) and digital radio standards such as HD RadioTM and DAB. By supporting all of the global broadcast radio bands and flexible and powerful audio post-processing methods, Silicon Labs' new audio software products and Global Eagle tuner ICs meet the global demand for advanced car radio technology.
Brian Mirkin, general manager of Silicon Labs' broadcast products, said: "Automotive OEMs are demanding higher audio performance at lower system cost, while consumers also want CD-quality audio from car radios. Silicon Labs offers us with The new Eagle Audio System IC is paired with new software products to meet the need for higher quality audio at lower cost. This combination of hardware and software provides maximum design flexibility and the best car audio listening experience."
Silicon Labs' fixed audio capabilities software provides a complete audio post-processing solution for all analog and digital audio functions in car radios. The audio software includes a large number of user-programmable parameters that enable developers to configure different audio post-processing algorithms for different car modules. The software supports the following features:
· Three independent audio post-processing paths:
Main path: 4 channels or 6 channels of audio
Auxiliary path: 2-channel audio (for rear seat headphones)
Voice: audio processing for two microphone inputs
· Two tone sequencers
· Two waveform generators that can be played from internal memory
Audio Software Development Kit (SDK)
The SDK enables developers to port their audio algorithms to the Global Eagle Si47911/12 audio system, unlocking the functionality of the audio DSP. The SDK includes the following:
· Development board with software tools for real-time debugging
· Building block libraries that can be used by developer algorithms
· Encryption tool to protect audio processing IP
Silicon Labs Audio Topology Editor (SLATE)
SLATE is a graphical editor running in MathWorks' Simulink® environment, where developers can use Silicon Labs' software module libraries to design custom audio processing streams. SLATE helps developers reuse and modify the Silicon Labs audio design for fixed-function audio processing. At the same time, SLATE and Audio SDK also enable developers to combine their algorithms with Silicon Labs audio processing blocks to build new audio processing topologies. The SDK helps developers port their IP to audio DSPs, design new IPs as SLATE modules, and then easily operate in SLATE to easily and quickly perform powerful and complex audio processing development.
Silicon Labs launched its first "RF-in-CMOS" broadcast audio IC product about 12 years ago. These single-chip solutions reduce the number of devices by more than 90% and reduce board area by more than 60%, redefining how to design AM/FM tuner ICs into consumer electronics. To date, Silicon Labs has sold more than 1.3 billion "radio-on-a-chip" ICs, and its Dacheng Global Eagle family of products is the industry's most advanced car radio system solution. Global Eagle's design range from low-cost, single-tuner AM/FM radios to high-performance systems with multiple tuners and antennas, enabling radio suppliers to design their designs to cover multiple products and use the same software API.

The pin refers to the connection between the internal circuit of the integrated circuit (chip) and the peripheral circuit, and the pin constitutes the interface of the chip. According to the function, the pins of AT89S52 can be divided into four categories: main power supply, external crystal oscillator or oscillator, multi-function I/O port, and control, strobe and reset.
