The two-phase stepping motor can achieve a no-load speed of up to 2000 rpm, but it is only a reference value, which has no practical significance, because the torque of the stepping motor decreases rapidly with the increase of the speed, and the speed is high. The torque is almost zero to a certain extent. Stepper motor increases the clock frequency without subdivision in the whole step (one turn per 200 pulses). People often find that the motor stalls when it reaches the maximum speed of no-load, so that it can't figure out the maximum speed. How much is it, even wondering if your system is normal, which is the real reason.

The running performance of the stepping motor at low speed has practical significance. It is generally 300 to 600 rpm. Considering that the user uses a mechanical deceleration device to carry the load, the motor must be supplied with sufficient torque. The normal speed of the motor is often selected. At tens of revolutions per minute, the motor has large power supply, high efficiency and low noise. As for the vibration problem, it must be solved by increasing the subdivision of the drive.

The formula for calculating the maximum no-load speed is:

No-load speed (rev / min) = 60 times the clock frequency / 200 times the number of subdivisions (M is the number of subdivisions)

If M=16, clock frequency = 150KHZ

Then the maximum no-load speed is approximately equal to 2800 rpm

That is, 60 times 150,000, divided by the product of 200 and 16, the result is obtained.
