The maintenance grounding switch is arranged next to the isolating switch on both sides of the circuit breaker, which only serves to ground the two sides of the circuit breaker during maintenance.
The fast grounding switch is arranged on the line side of the outgoing disconnecting switch of the outgoing circuit. It has two functions:
1 Opening and closing parallel overhead lines generate capacitive current due to capacitive current and electromagnetic induction generated by electrostatic induction;
2 When there is creepage in the inner insulator of the outer casing or arcing inside the outer casing, the quick grounding switch lowers the main circuit to ground quickly, and uses the circuit breaker to cut off the fault current.

The cooperation of the circuit breaker and the quick grounding switch can be said from two aspects, one is from the switch tripping aspect, and the other is from the reclosing.
1. In terms of tripping, it is actually very simple. When a single-phase fault occurs on the line, the switch on both sides of the fault line is disconnected. However, due to the electromagnetic coupling between the normal phase and the fault phase, the potential supply current appears, which is not conducive to arc extinction. Reduce the submersible current. When the switch on both sides is disconnected, the automatic device action immediately closes the fast grounding switch on both sides to achieve the function of rapid arc extinguishing.
2, the maximum use of the fast grounding switch is actually to achieve the reclosing with the switch. The steps are as follows:
(1) A single-phase grounding short-circuit fault occurs, generating an arc;
(2) The switch at both ends of the fault phase trips, one arc is extinguished, and the submerged power arc (secondary arc) is generated;
(3) The fast grounding switch installed in the fault phase is grounded, and the submerged power supply arc is extinguished;
(4) The quick grounding switch is disconnected;
(5) The reclosing action switch is coincident.
