The motor is an inductive load, the current lags voltage, and most electrical appliances are of this type. In order to increase the power factor, it must be compensated with a capacitive load and compensated by a capacitor or a synchronous motor. Reducing the motor's excitation current also increases the power factor (HPS2 energy-saving function, which reduces the voltage at light loads and lowers the excitation current, which increases COS∮). Energy-saving operation mode: reducing the voltage at light load reduces the excitation current, and the motor current is divided into active component and reactive component (excitation component) to increase COS∮.
Energy-saving operation mode: When the motor load is light, the soft starter selects the energy-saving function, the PF switch is hot-swapped to the Y position, and the soft starter automatically reduces the motor voltage under the action of current feedback. The excitation component of the motor current is reduced. Thereby the power factor (COS∮) of the motor is increased. (There is no such function in the domestic soft starter) This function cannot be realized in the contactor bypass state. The TPF switch provides two reaction times for energy saving functions; normal and slow. Energy-saving operation mode: automatic energy-saving operation. (Normal and slow speeds of both reactions) 40% energy saving for no load, 5% energy saving for load.
