8K technology really have such a god? What is 8K?

4K has just arrived. Since 1995, Japan’s NHK, which has been developing 8K technology, has been broadcasting the 8K Olympic Games to the world for the 2020 Olympic Games. Now it has begun to test and broadcast the 8K Rio Olympics footage. Good cries. So we came to face cold water, 8K technology is not you want to have.

What is an 8K?

First of all, we need to know that, strictly speaking, 8K is not a kind of "technology". It is just a kind of pixel arrangement specification, which stipulates how many pixels are straddled and how many pixels are upright.

8K = 7680 x 4320

4k(2160P)= 3840 x 2160

2k(1440P) = 2048 x 1440

FHD(1080P)= 1920 x 1080

Slightly different under different standards

The different resolution is an A4 paper with 10 watermelons or 100 grapes.

The technical difficulty of 8K is, if this A4 paper size is the same, how can we plug 100,000 peanuts? The 5-inch screen in front of your eyes is only stuffed with 2,073,600 pixels, while the 8K display requires 33,177,600 pixels. In theory, higher-pixel screens will bring more detailed images.

however! If 8K is used on mobile phones, such high-resolution mobile phone screens will often cause high power consumption, slow processing, difficulty in adapting and expensive, and no problem with farts. And even if you don't talk about prices, this kind of screen yield will make people cry. At present, the high-resolution mobile phone screen can show little effect. So the mobile phone in your hand is probably the level of FHD, and your computer, if not accidental, is just the level of FHD.

(The distance from 8K is still 16 1080P)

If 8K is used on a TV, you not only need 8K content, but also need 8K TV signals and 8K level transmission speed. Because it involves real-time broadcast, set-top boxes, etc., the source, transmission speed, and display interface are all obstacles to upgrade. There are many bottlenecks encountered in the process, and replacement is very slow. Therefore, the highest level of HDTVs in China is still only up to the FHD level, and now 2K and 4K TVs are still showing “excess” status.

In quite a fairly long period of time, the resolution of home TVs was only 480p (although many people did not find them.)

Second, if you want to experience 8K

1, you first need to buy an 8K monitor a bit expensive.

On September 16, 2015, Sharp announced in Japan that the world’s first 8K TV will be officially launched on October 30. This 85-inch 8K screen has a resolution of 7,680 4 4,320 and is priced at 16 million yen, or approximately 1.03 million renminbi.

2, then you need 8K video to wait.

The 2017 Galaxy Guard 2 will be the world’s first 8K movie of the year, with only one. In addition, an unprocessed 8K video will require 1 TB in 20 minutes.

If you just want to watch 8K video with 8K monitor:

Either shrink to the middle piece

Either stretch the mosaic to full screen

3, if you still need 8K TV signal no.

If you want to achieve the effect of real-time propagation, the satellite transmission speed must even reach 91.0Mbit/s, and the HD data interface must all be replaced. The current HDMI 2.0 interface only supports 18 Gbps, which is only equal to 4K.

Even if a television station is convinced that it is willing to provide you with 8K video signals, all communication problems have been solved. In 2015, even few devices can shoot 8K videos. .

4. You need to show off right? How clear is the 8K? It's hard.

According to a study by American engineer Carlton Bale, if the screens are all 80 inches and people stand within 1.5 meters, you can see how the 4K monitor is different from the 1080P monitor. With 8K, you have to stand within 75 centimeters before you can live up to the 8k technology.

If your screen is not 80 inches and your eyes are on the screen, you may not see the difference between 8K and 1080P.

Third, what is the use of 8K?

1. Large screen in public spaces

When you stand a certain distance, and under the giant screen, it is indeed the difference between FHD and 8K screen is very obvious, especially the giant screen movie hall, 8k screen can bring very delicate picture, very shocking to consumers The visual experience. Currently, 8k Olympic videos broadcasted by Japanese NHK television stations are mainly broadcast in public halls. And this should also be the main source of future 8K video and display.

2, VR

Under the current technology, if your device (such as a mobile phone) is already a 2K display, the VR display effect is only equal to 720P, so the VR effect is generally very poor, basically the AV quality a few years ago. But if it is an 8k display, the display effect is equivalent to a 2K display, plus the screen is very close to the eye after bringing the VR (which is really on the screen), the VR vision brought by the 8K display The difference in experience is still very large and the effect is outstanding! Then there is no :)

Fourth, face time

A lot of reports blew 8K to see if I had cancer later

1. It is helpful for sports photography

"For large film makers such as NHK, 8K ultra-high-definition display technology brings convenience to both their shooting and post-production editing." Via curiosity and! No! Have!

You tell me why display technology has brought convenience to shooting? ?

Only 8K camera technology can bring the above benefits, 8k display technology can not be ah, while the camera's 8K refers to the photosensitive pixels, the display 8K refers to the display pixels, the two are facing technical problems are completely different of.

PS: Some mobile phones can already complete 4K video

PPS: Even if the number of mobile phone pixels looks pretty good, the remaining difference is not an order of magnitude or two.

PPPS: So mobile photography and television photography are still totally different. We need to keep awe:)

2. It is helpful for photography in the wild

For photographers who shoot lion tigers, 8K technology may greatly improve their survival. "via curiosity is the same as above and you die or die:)

3, help medical

"This technology will also be extended to the medical community. On the one hand, it can use its ultra-high-resolution imaging-assisted surgery to perform more precisely. On the other hand, it can help doctors find lesions more quickly through outstanding color analysis capabilities." The Japan Times reported that with the help of 8K, doctors can identify slight changes in the color of the diseased organs in the early stage of cancer, so as to provide more timely treatment to patients.” via curiosity daily

First of all, the most important thing for medical monitors is the “grayscale” parameter (please ask every brain to make up a variety of CT slices). The subtle color difference of lesions is displayed by grayscale. The 8K display is not used and the grayscale is 0%. 100% brightness division, management of brightness and brightness. .

Forget it. . . If you don't understand, please pretend to understand, okay:)

Secondly, 8K display does affect the fineness of the picture, but it is also related to the size of the screen itself and the viewing distance. If it exceeds the PPI index that the human eye can discern, there will be no difference in the development to 100K. And the high brightness and high stability that a medical display needs, it is not necessarily that the 8K screen can have relatively outstanding performance.
