From time immemorial, desktop embellishment can be said to be a historic problem. After all, the monitor size, screen resolution, and personal preference (extra vision) used by everyone determine the size and placement of icons on the desktop. These are all better solutions. Taking a moment to adjust according to the individual's "aesthetic" can be effective. However, the default spacing between Windows icons is fixed. This is not fun.
Like Xiaobian in the editorial department, some like a single-row task bar, some prefer a double-row task bar, plus three large, medium, and small-sized icons. Each time you adjust it, you can call it ugly. So, the simplest solution is to be able to customize the "fixed" spacing between icons.
To login, enter regedit after Win+R, enter the registry editor, navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics
On the right side, two key values named "IconSpacing" and "IconVerticalSpacing" are found, the former representing the horizontal spacing of the icons and the latter being the vertical spacing. Just modify their numerical data on it.
It should be noted that although the desktop icons are calculated according to the pixel distance, the values entered in the registry need to be × -15. If you want to change the spacing between the icons to 50 pixels, you have to Enter "-750" in the numerical data.
Take a look at the actual effect. Before adjustment, the default is -11130 (approximately 75 pixels).
50 pixel pitch display effect;
100 pixel pitch display effect.
In this way, when we later use resolution scaling, adjust the taskbar height and icon size, we will no longer be subject to the ugly "default".
