Set password reminders, use group policy is often the most intuitive and convenient, if you are using Windows Professional Edition, then enter gpedit.msc after using Win+R, followed by entering "Computer Configuration - Windows Settings - Security Settings - Account Policy - Password Policy.

Select "Maximum password age" on the right. Under normal circumstances, we recommend a 72-day replacement, of course, you can also choose to replace the time, you can even choose to update one day, then make a password every day. If "0" is selected, the Windows operating system password will not expire. As soon as you confirm it, on the day you set it, the computer will prompt you to change the login password in case you forget it.

In addition, in this group policy, you can also change the minimum password length, whether the password meets the complexity (can use a numeric password or must be interspersed with English letters and uppercase plus special symbols), etc., if memory is not good, please carefully adjust these options. Otherwise you will need to adjust the password from the system kernel to boot.

If you are using a home version of Windows without a group policy, we can use the command prompt to set it up. Enter the following to start the command prompt:

Wmic UserAccount set PasswordExpires=True

This will force the system login password to expire before entering

Net accounts /maxpwage:X

Where X represents the time when the password needs to be updated. The time will be the same as the effect of the above group policy, reminding you to change your password. If your computer has multiple accounts and you just want your account to remind you to change the password regularly, you need to replace the first command with

Wmic UserAccount where Name='USERNAME' set PasswordExpires=True

USERNAME is the account name used by everyone.

After adjusting the Windows login password, we can adjust the Microsoft account again. In the Windows 10 system, Microsoft links accounts together. Personal accounts are not only associated with Windows, Office, and OneNote. If you have Microsoft devices such as Xbox, linkage will also occur. If this password is lost, it will cause great trouble for the user, and if it is not, the data will not be synchronized, and many software purchased will become someone else's.

However, Microsoft also has protection measures. Just log in to the Microsoft website (or use "Settings - Accounts - Your Information - Manage My" Microsoft Account), select "Security & Privacy - Change Password" on the Settings screen, then just " You can periodically update your Microsoft account password by setting the password expiration period to 72 days. Unlike the method set in the system, the official only provided this option for 72 days. In addition, you need to pay attention to changing the Microsoft account password, Windows, Office, OneDrive and other software need to use a new password to log in once effective.

In addition to Microsoft’s products, QQ, WeChat, e-mail, or forums that are frequently used in everyday life do not provide similar alert services. However, we can remind ourselves through some small plug-ins for the West.

This can be done through the "Scheduled Tasks" function in the system. Use "Scheduled Tasks" to create a project that reminds everyone to replace the contents of other passwords. In Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Task Scheduler, click Create Basic Task on the right.

Enter the task's "name" such as QQ password and "description". This part of the user can play on his own, click "Next" after completion.

In the "Trigger" option, set the task start time to "monthly" and continue. Set the start time to the current time.
