Wal-Mart currently claims to have entered into a partnership with STRIVR, a company based in Menlo Park, California. STRIVR will provide an end-to-end platform to record and report training details to facilitate analysis by companies or groups.

There are 200 supermarkets in Wal-Mart in the United States, and the number of new employees will exceed 150,000. In the 360-degree video of 30 seconds to 5 minutes, about 150,000 employees will perform various training scenarios through 360-degree video. The scene includes how to deal with various situations in the supermarket, such as summer holiday shopping season, Black Friday and other holiday shopping.

Wal-Mart's use of VR to train employees is nothing new. Prior to this, Deutsche Bahn and General Motors had also applied VR to employee training.
