The third generation of materials came out, Japan OLED bitterly chased South Korea

Japan used to be a leading global OLED panel technology, and other countries can only hope for it and catch up. After the withdrawal of the OLED market, the role of the OLED market has changed, and the role has changed from the leader of the past to the current chaser. What is being chased is, of course, Samsung Electronics, which is currently dominated by the world.
However, at present, Japan has a good chance to return to the leading position of technology. According to the Nikkei News, the Advanced Organic Optoelectronics Research Center (OPERA) of Kyushu University in Japan has developed a high-fluorescent material that will be used in third-generation OLEDs to provide better luminous efficiency and lower cost. .
It is understood that this latest luminescent material is already the third generation technology. Looking back at the first and second generation technologies, the low cost of the first generation of fluorescent materials is the biggest advantage. However, the conversion efficiency of converting electrons into light is very poor, so it is mostly used in low-end products. As for the second generation of fluorescent materials, the biggest advantage is that the conversion efficiency can approach 100%, but the problem is that the use of rare metal ruthenium in its materials makes it very expensive.
The third-generation fluorescent materials currently developed in Japan integrate the advantages of the first generation and the second generation. Not only can the luminous efficiency be as high as 100%, but other metals are used instead of base metals, and the material cost is saved. Nine is more cost effective than the second generation of fluorescent materials.
At present, OPERA has adopted the latest fluorescent materials to try to make small-sized OLED panels with a life span of several thousand hours. OPERA plans to commercialize new fluorescent materials after one year, and it is expected to be used first on smart phones. In order to avoid South Korea's possession of this technology, the supply target will be preferred to Japanese manufacturers. In the future, this organic fluorescent material will very likely become a secret weapon for Japan to compete with Korean manufacturers.
