Fujitsu Semiconductor Introduces New Version of CGI Studio to Support OpenGL ES 3.0

Shanghai, August 11, 2014 – Fujitsu Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. today announced that Fujitsu Semiconductor's Embedded Solutions Austria (FEAT) has released the latest version of the CGI Studio tool suite version 3.0. CGI Studio is widely used in various automotive infotainment and multi-screen dashboard systems in the automotive industry. The new CGI Studio tool supports OpenGL ES 3.0 for advanced in-vehicle human machine interface (HMI) applications.

HMI application for perfect embedded system

OpenGL ES 3.0 is the standard for current high-complexity embedded HMI application development. CGI Studio uses the computing power of today's and tomorrow's embedded chips to support a wide range of high-performance 2D/3D applications such as navigation, vehicle status visualization and task menu structure, while taking into account the necessary automotive applications such as boot speed and low power consumption. In addition, CGI Studio also complies with automotive standards and specifications.

KTX image formats, ETC2 and EAC texture compression, seamless cubes and many other new drawing features enhance CGI Studio, enabling customers to maximize their creativity with fewer resources. In addition, CGI Studio 3.0 has many convenient features, such as the Shareable Component Database (SCL), EGL Situation Sharing and Improved Scene Mode, which is the most versatile and easy to use editing suite in the automotive market today.

About CGI Studio

CGI Studio is Fujitsu's software development platform for hybrid 2D and 3D graphics interfaces (HMI/GUI). To complement the "Candera 2D" engine and the "Candera 3D" engine, Fujitsu offers a continuous tool chain for 2D/3D construction and editing, efficiency measurement and improvement, state machine integration/testing and functional safety to ASIL standards, and Complete 2D/3D rendering engine. Compared to personal computers or tablets, embedded systems have more limited hardware resources and costs, and CGI Studio is an efficiency-enhancing tool designed for embedded systems.
