Huawei's world's first 10G EPOC prototype

IEEE802.3bn EPOC (EPON Protocol over Coaxial PHY) has become the next-generation coaxial access technology most concerned by MSOs at home and abroad, and is in the critical stage of standardization. In order to adapt EPOC technology to a larger market and meet the needs of domestic broadcast and television operators, the EPOC task force held a meeting in Hangzhou on October 28.

The conference was hosted by Huawei, the world's leading information and communication solution provider, and attracted widespread attention in the industry. About 90 people from major MSOs in North America and China participated in the conference. The meeting mainly discussed the domestic coaxial channel test situation and application scenarios, EPOC system architecture, TDD requirements and applicability, physical layer adaptive modulation and other issues.

During this conference, Huawei demonstrated the industry-leading 10GEPOC prototype system. Its physical layer uses 4096QAM modulation, providing uplink 800Mbps and downlink 900Mbps access rates on the uplink 5-85MHz and downlink 1.0-1.08GHz spectrum. The system supports ONU and CNU coexisting under the same 10GEPON OLT port, supports Node + 0 / + 1 coaxial network topology, can greatly improve the coaxial access rate and spectrum efficiency, and provide the most competitive connection for MSO network upgrade Into the solution. After the EPOC meeting, Huawei held a Chinese and foreign MSO forum. ICTC chairman Mr. Jin Naihui hosted the forum on the spot.
